Bunnahabhain 10 Year Old 2001 - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)
- Distillery: Bunnahabhain
Matured for 10 years in sherry butt #1765. Release of 581 bottles.
Aroma: notes of nuts and ripe pear. Coastal character fills up the palate. With water comes more pepper, ginger, some peat. Palate: dry wood with spices. Almonds and ginger. Orange peel and cocoa. Water brings more bitter taste with significant liquorice notes. Finish: long and warm with bitter almonds and some toffee. Comments: young and dashing Bunna. Good balance. It seems cask is aggresive in a good sense this time.
The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
