Glendronach 18 Year Old Allardice
- Distillery: Glendronach
Matured in sherry casks for 18 years. Really nice one, well balanced.
Aroma: chocolate cake with nuts and plums. Liquorice and caramel with oily wood and oriental spices. Palate: great kick of spice and nuts. Some cedar notes with dry tannins. Some hints of raisins and cinnamon. Finish: really nutty - peanuts, walnuts, some cocoa. Comments: very well engineered one, not too agressive. Cognac lovers should like it. Bit too dry for my taste. Finish is long and great anyway.
The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
