Glenfarclas is well known for their sherry matured malts (they rarely do use any other casks). This one is one of my top favorites.

Aroma: gentle notes of burnt caramel with dried fruit, raisins. Cinnamon some lemon drops.
Palate: sherry notes with figs, liquorice and cacao. Wood tannins. Grapefruit, lime peel. Black chocolate. More and more fruity with some time. Great balance. Finish: sherry, spice and chocolate.
Comments: complex, deep malt, requiring some attention and time. Alive and full, very nice.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
